individual assessment
Individual Assessment
The individual assessment normally consists of you being given a case study on a company and you are asked to decide on certain things for that company. Normally they also give you certain restrictions like not to talk to anyone else in the room, completing it in 30 minutes and even only writing your answers on one side of a A4 sheet of paper.
Therefore, the first thing you should do is read the questions being asked and then read through the case study. Remember most of the information given is irrelevant so try to read through it highlighting the important parts that will help you answer the questions.
With this exercise there is normally no definite right answer, you are assessed on your way of thinking and if you back up your answers.
With this assessment you must always be aware of the time so ensure that you have your watch next to you and make deadlines for yourself.
For example, allowing only 10 minutes for reading, then 10 minutes for writing, then another 10 minutes for checking.
Thus, when it comes to writing your answer quickly jot down the main things you need to address first and then fully answer each question in order. You may also be required to do some calculations and provide some figures so try to keep your workings and figures together. This will allow the assessors to clearly follow your way of working.
When you have completed the case study allow enough time to read through your answers and make sure you have answered everything fully.
