Candidate Interview Questions
As an interviewee you have to be prepared to ask questions of the employer because it is not just you trying to impress them, they have to impress you as well! There are a selection of questions that you could ask:
- What kinds of assignments/projects will I be doing?
- What are the main duties involved with the job?
- To whom do I report to?
- Who will I be working with and how many is in the team?
- What objectives do you have in mind that you want the person that is hired to meet?
- How much travel is involved? How often?
- Describe a typical day in this particular job?
- What further training do you provide for your employees?
- What benefits will I receive? e.g. pension scheme etc?
- Do you have a performance review system? How frequently will I be evaluated?
- What is the next stage in the interview process?
- Is this a new position or will I be replacing someone else?
- What do you like best about this company/job?
- Is there a lot of teamwork involved in this job?
- What skills/qualities are required for this job?
- What is the next course of action after this interview?
- When should i hear from you?
- What will my salary be?
- Will there be opportunities for me develop my career and increase my salary?
These are a good selection of questions that you could ask the employer. Again the type of questions you ask depend on the type of job you are applying for and at what level. If you are applying for a management job then salary negotiations will probably be the most important to you. Just make sure that when you are negotiating a salary you highlight what expertise you will bring to the company. Sell yourself and you should get the salary you want!
